Her second release of the yer, Ren is a counterpart to the previous album, Loong, forming together what some could call a full cycle, or the balance between yin and yang.
Like the precedent one, the project has been influenced by Chinese Taoist & traditional medicine thought: water is associated with depth, adaptability, and a profound sense of wisdom, much like the flowing nature of rivers and the stillness of deep lakes. It represents the essence of intuition, introspection, and the ability to navigate challenges with resilience and fluidity. Water is the source of life, symbolizing winter, night, and the mysterious, hidden potential of new beginnings. It nourishes and supports the growth of wood, its succeeding element, enabling transformation and vitality to emerge.
Loong and Ren explore Chinese astrology and both albums feature six songs, reflecting the 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches of the Chinese zodiac.
