Today, Canadian-Indian songwriter and producer Raj Ramayya shares his new single, 1000 Years, and announces the release of his upcoming EP, Love Thy Brown Brother, set to drop on February 14, 2025.
Following his acclaimed psych-pop and hypnotic album Spicy Beats, which topped the iTunes charts at number 2, and the electro-driven Spice Age Adventure, which reached #5 Top Seller on iTunes, “the Pride of Saskatoon” pays tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Cosmic Current documentary , a Gemini Award-winning film that chronicles his family’s journey from their arrival in Canada to their return to India, where they came together to face his mother’s illness for the first time.
The new EP marks the first international release of songs previously made available only in Japan through Dynastic Records, following the success of the Cosmic Current documentary. This EP delves into new musical territory with lo-fi-inspired production and alternative song versions, offering an intimate and powerful journey through Raj’s cultural roots and honoring his musical evolution while embracing a fresh sonic direction.
